Guitar Repair Technician 101 is part of our Guitar Repair Technician mentorship program designed specifically for those interested and dedicated to working in the industry as musical instrument repair professionals.
This foundational, two-day course introduces you to the essential skills of professional guitar maintenance. You’ll learn precision setups (electric & acoustic), tackle common light repairs, and gain a solid introduction to basic electronic work. Join this intensive, hands-on training and start building the confidence you need for a future in guitar repair.
Class Overview
- Mastering precision guitar setups (electric & acoustic) for optimal performance
- Identifying and addressing common loose or broken hardware issues
- Correcting minor finish imperfections such as chips and dings
- Building confidence in basic electronic repairs and troubleshooting
- Developing an understanding of practical maintenance practices, including store and showroom environments
- Laying the groundwork for more advanced repair and custom work skills

- Deposits: Due to the cost of the course, we are offering payment plans. Choose DEPOSIT ONLY and finalize your payment. The balance of the regular price of the course is due by the class start date, no exceptions. Single payments can be made at your convenience. Sale prices are not honored when using this payment plan.

Cancellation Policy:
Please be aware that there are no refunds for class registrations or deposits paid if you are unable to attend. Credits may be offered under specific circumstances and class formats only, as determined by Blackwood Guitarworks and seating availability. Transferring registration to another individual is welcome if notified a minimum 24 hours prior to event. By registering for this event you are in agreement to our cancellation policy.
